Mansions in Newport, Rhode Island 9/21.
This summer home was built in 1895 for Cornelius Vanderbilt, ship builder. Highlights: beautiful, different colors of marble from Africa and large 1600 tapestry.

Plimoth Plantation continued... Wampanoag native people homesite made out of bark. They helped pilgrims survive their first winter.
Inside this very warm hut, beds were covered with hides; and the air circulated because of the dome-shape and reed-mats that hung inside.
Canoe made by burning the inside of the tree.
These navite people teaching us how they lived were actually from this tribe. This view is where they would prepare food. A woman had just skinned an otter that morning. They used the animal's brain to treat the skin; and they said the size of the brain was the right amount for each animal. Posted by Picasa
